Make it count
Don’t just hope for an amazing birth, prepare for one!
The most powerful way to approach your birth is with confidence and relaxation! Preparation will pave the way for your family to confidently and readily embrace each phase of your labor and birth.
One of the most important ways you can prepare for a natural birth, is by learning how to relax during labor. If you have any fears about your birthing day, lets start here. HypnoBirthing® (also known as The Mongan Method) is an internationally known childbirth education course. It promotes and is crafted to women having a gentle birth (and for some) without pain or drugs.
The contributors of this technique noticed that other birthing animals did not appear to be in any pain during childbirth, so why is the birthing woman having a different experience? Avoiding the fear-tension-pain cycle is important for all of us and the key variable in this method.
This is a five week series, 2 1/2 hours classes. You will receive the text book, a workbook, audio downloads and printed material.

HypnoBirthing®
Our classes are designed to prepare you for your pregnancy, birth and postpartum. From a physiological stand point, you will learn about your pregnant body and the journey it will take to birthing your sweet baby. We cover birthing styles, the value of centering yourself, coping with labor, and the benefits of different birthing positions. What are the signs of labor and when is it best to use a birth and or peanut ball? Will you poop during birth or will you tear from top to bottom?! Worry not, we delve into all of these questions and more. We will also discuss choosing a provider that aligns with your beliefs as well as creating a birth plan that supports you and your baby.
You as the birthing parent will always be our top priority, however our aim is to prepare your family as a unit. As such, the partner support session was created for the partner. A designated space for the partner to ask any lingering questions they may have and learn more specifically how to best support the birthing parent.

FAQs

While our bodies do give us signals, we need to learn how to interpret those signals and understand the response options available to us. Labor is exactly that, work. The work you put in will require preparation. Our bodies can labor but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t prepare. Our bodies are also capable of running marathons, yet you wouldn’t do that either without preparing, would you?
If this is your first time giving birth or your first unmedicated birth, you and a partner should definitely take a comprehensive birth class. Our birth classes are physiologically based and will be an added bonus if you previously birthed your baby via cesarean and would like to have a vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) this time around.

It is ill-advised to get an epidural in the beginning moments of labor. So, what are your plans during early labor, the phase before active labor? This is where you pull out the tools and techniques you learned in our CBE classes. Our classes teach you and your partner strategies to cope during that phase of labor.
In addition, our CBE classes not only prepare you for your labor and how to birth, it’s also about understanding how to communicate with your care provider and understanding your choices ahead of time. In the event your labor takes an unexpected turn, your provider will likely step in to administer a drug intervention or augmentation. Having already taken CBE courses reduces the odds of you hearing and understanding this information in the midst of you laboring with your baby. You will already know your options, have a plan and have a back up plan if need be.
Lastly, our classes also encompass postpartum and newborn care, important takeaways for what we call “the fourth trimester”. Often times families prepare for conception, pregnancy and childbirth but often neglect and wish they had been more diligent about knowing what their post delivery journey will entail. Our birth classes prepare you and your partner to have a more satisfying birth experience overall.
